About MPS

Medical Personnel Services was created in 1989 by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society to help medical practices with their staffing needs. MPS provides quality healthcare personnel who work both temporary positions - which could be only a day or for as long as the need remained – and permanent placements, in which MPS advertises an opening for a practice, screens applications for the hiring authority, conducts interviews, and extends an employment offer.

MPS serves primarily Hamilton and Bradley Counties but also areas within a 45-mile radius of its office in Chattanooga. We are extremely proud to have received the Better Business Award for Ethics in Business (small employer category) in 2023!

Because MPS was formed and is managed by physicians, we have unique insight that most placement services do not have. We know what experience is needed in our area practices and work to provide only the most qualified staff. We enjoy close relationships with area office managers. MPS has been a staple in the medical staffing industry in the Chattanooga area for more than 31 years.

MPS fills a variety of clinical positions in medical practices, which include: Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Radiology Technicians, Certified Medical Assistants, and Phlebotomists but there are many others not listed.  We provide staffing for jobs that are more clerical in nature, including: Office Manager, Certified Biller or Coder, Insurance Follow-Up Specialist, Payment Poster and Receptionist, just to name a few.

Our Medical Society affiliation is important to us. The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society was founded in 1883 by a group of Chattanooga area physicians to form what we commonly refer to as The Medical Society.  The Society is an advocate for the success of physicians and for the continual improvement of community health. The Society also formed a nonprofit arm, the Medical Foundation of Chattanooga, in April 1986. The Foundation serves as a nonprofit conduit for physicians’ philanthropic efforts with a focus on improving community health.  Perhaps Project Access is the best-known program. Project Access is a clinic without walls that provides access to specialty, hospital, and laboratory services to low-income uninsured adults in Southeast Tennessee.

You will often see MPS staff volunteering at Medical Society and Foundation events as part of a close-knit team serving area physicians and working to serve the community.
